Dare to Hope!

I don’t usually take the time to watch the news. There’s something about inundating my time with bad news that doesn’t sit well with me. In fact there are days when the TV does not remember my name. So, amidst of all the deaths and tragedies occurring around the world and across the country, I was completely clueless this week. Nonetheless, I was aware of the murmurs and the passionate responses to it all thanks to social media (o where o where would we be without you dear social media).

Awareness so valuable. Not simply just to be in the know, but to be in the know so you know how to pray, what to pray and when to pray and when to declare: “The insanity stops NOW!”

Yesterday, I decided to play catch up with the news. As I read article after article and watched countless videos, my heart grew increasingly heavy. Upon completion, it felt as though a 7 ton rock was placed right on top of my beating heart. I could feel the heavy burden (the agony of brothers and sisters in Christ afar, the agony of families and children being killed across the country and outside the country and children being beheaded).

I thought about how the evils of this world are increasingly becoming bolder and showing off its appalling work on every form of media.

Its so easy to feel helpless as you ponder upon the extent at which you can really do something about it all–how to help. Do you dare to enter into Iraq to defend the honor of innocent people? Do you dare hop on a plane to bring support to the families in need? Do you dare to join the communities in Ferguson in their choice of protest? Do you dare to be a catalyst of awareness of the increasing levels of police brutality?

OR

Do you dare to hope?

“I wish I could do something more!” But you can!

DARE TO HOPE:

I dare to hope that the unity in the body of Christ will prevail in standing on the word of God

I dare to hope that those who believe in the power of their words, the power of prayer, the power behind their authority and those who trust in the height of their faith in God will use their words and lips to form bold statements and declare what should be the outcome.

Unity is our standing power.

“Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” (Matthew 18:18-20)

O the power, the fortitude, that dwells within your words. It doesn’t only work for YOUR job, YOUR money, YOUR family, YOUR problems, but it works for THEIR families, THEIR money, THEIR problems.

The lioness in me is aware of one thing: action and justice will prevail because with me dwells a power so big, so alive, so active, sharper than any double edged sword. With you so dwells the same.

My words, my faith, my hope: Its the best that I’ve got right now quite honestly!

Hopefully, we can come together on one accord to hope and to speak out!
