Do you know the history behind Labor Day?
I never actually took the time to look it up until today. As a descendent of West Indian/Caribbean culture, I always recognized it as a day all where all the west indian folk came to celebrate their individual cultures together. Various people come together in carnival like attire and partied down the streets in a parade of floats.
However, this federal holiday was first established in the late 1800s as a creation of the labor movement to recognize the social and economic achievement of American workers. “It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity and well-being of our country.”
On that note, this week’s #motivationmonday is dedicated to those who lost hope, fire, determination, drive or even those who have given up on their dreams to pursue the work or the business that fills life with all kinds of happy, a sense of fulfillment and excitement.
IT’S TIME TO BOUNCE BACK!
Inspired by an article written in Entrepreneur Magazine online, Don’t let the negatives stop you or keep you from working harder, but let them fuel your motivation to succeed:
- Work harder than ever before.
- Train yourself to say “you can do it” past the negative thoughts and negative people.
- Continue to focus past the mistakes.
- Be bold and courageous through confidence in what you do.
- Take the challenges as learning opportunities and move forward.
